Contour cutting

For contour cutting stone slabs, a fully automatic diamond wire saw has been developed that works day and night without human intervention. A cutting program is prepared using a PC and a clamping plan created.

The only manual operation is the clamping of the stone slab to the carriage with the correct number. The carriages enter the diamond wire saw one after the other, where they are clamped in place, and the associated program is loaded into the controller depending on the wagon number.

After cutting begins, a beam is raised which supports the cut piece. At the end of cutting, the beam is lowered, laying the cut piece on the stone. The cable can now return to the initial position.

The thickness and hardness of the stone is irrelevant. The controller ensures the optimum feed rate. Another patent allows edges and small radii to be turned and cut without reducing the feed rate.
This reduces the machining time considerably (saving energy costs).

To extend the service life of the wire, a further patent has been developed. A sensor detects wire vibration, and automatically adjusts the wire speed to ensure it runs smoothly.

For automatic operation, a so-called manipulator is required, which takes the cut stone and transports it to a container. There the cut pieces of stone are placed side by side.

The carriage with the fully cut stone can then be transported away.
