Polishing machines
| For automatic complete machining of a stone slab, a polishing machine has been developed, which polishes the front side of the stone in conjunction with a contour saw. A major benefit of this is that the stone only needs to be clamped once. The carriage with the cut stone moves from the wire saw into the polishing machine, where it is clamped and the carriage number identified. This ensures that the controller loads the correct program. The polishing unit fetches the roller it requires from the magazine; a laser beam measures the roller diameter and re-calculates the program. One big advantage is tensioning of the polishing rollers on both sides. This ensures smooth running. In conjunction with the high speed, the polishing quality can be improved and the polishing time reduced. This machine can also polish holes. With shaping and milling tools, the edges can also be machined. When the stone slab is fully polished, it is removed from the machine, making space for the next operation. |
